The Sensual Experience

What is PCOS in a nutshell? PCOS, also known as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, is a hormonal imbalance that causes enlarged ovaries with some small to large cysts within them. As prescribed by doctors it can be treated but uncertain if it can be cured.

How Does PCOS affect the body?

PCOS can affect the body in various ways, from irregular periods, mood swings, can make fertility difficult, excessive body hair, and induce obesity to name a few. The body goes through various hormonal challenges due to pcos that can be very difficult to deal with. But some of the most challenging occurrences is how it can affect a woman physically, mentally, sexually, and emotionally.

PCOS can be hard on the body because your whole outward appearance can change in an instant, you can be young with vitality to struggling to lose weight with a full on beard. In a society, where beauty is the hot commodity, it can be devastating to a woman to not fit the part and feel beautiful.

Dealing with PCOS

As a woman dealing with PCOS, it can be very daunting and difficult at times. Always having to go the extra mile, remove extra body hair, work out rigorously, fasting, and constantly figuring out how to keep extra nutrients in your body to balance out hormones can be exhausting, but necessary.

A great way to stay on top of your health to ease the symptoms of PCOS and potentially put your hormones in balance is with Vitamin D and milk thistle for example. These combination of vitamins can be really helpful to women with PCOS because it can reduce insulin resistance, lower androgen levels, and lower the high levels of testosterone as studies have shown in the past. These vitamins can potentially put women in a state of calm or help the body do what’s it’s supposed to do if it were balanced.

Femininity And PCOS

Every woman wants to feel feminine and hot when they step into the world. But with PCOS that can be difficult as your femininity and feminine energy is being attacked by the body. Some women may feel angry, more aggressive, easily irritated to due their body not functioning correctly, and that can be stressful. The best way to bring in that feminine energy again, aside from improving physical health, is by working on the body and mind from a spiritual standpoint.

Learn to speak to your womb. She is a physical and spiritual representation of you. Tell her how much you appreciate her, how much you love her even when she’s not well, speak to her as though she was right there next to you. Ask her what she needs from you to heal, and watch how she responds back to you. Your womb is its own natural creation and it deserves to be respected and loved.

Healing your womb may take time but it is not impossible. As my father once told me,” I don’t believe in impossibilities, just because you don’t know the answer to an equation, doesn’t mean there isn’t one to be had”, finding the equation to healing the womb is no one size fits all, it can very well be tailored to you. Your femininity can be tailored to you.

Femininity is all about listening to that womanly part of you, that calmness and warmth. Having PCOS can sometimes take you away from that but by creating a routine centered around healing the body specifically the womb, speaking to your womb, and nurturing your womb, you will be able to bring yourself back to good health in no time.
