Releasing control can be a very scary thing, especially if we feel our power has been taken or we don’t know the answer. But releasing control can be powerful because it’s your choice and there’s nothing more powerful than knowing you have the right to choose something that inherently belongs to you and is yours.

What Is Control?

Control is being able to direct someone’s ability to do the things you want them to do or being able to control a situation or particular outcome.

How Do I Release It?

Releasing control takes time for some and might be easy for others. It depends on the individual. But releasing control can be a wonder thing and experience.

Some of the best ways to release control is with a partner, friend, or simply having someone you trust and allowing yourself to release control to them (that you’re comfortable with) or a particular situation knowing that you’re still in control and that this is a psychological release, to make your connection with this person or your partner stronger.

A great tool to use to release control, is practicing mindfulness. Mindfulness is the ability of staying present in the present moment. Allow yourself to mentally feel the moment, where are you? Who are you with? Why am I doing this? These questions will help you stay connected and stay connected to the person you are interacting with in the present moment. This can help you realize you might be able to control certain things but cannot always control an outcome especially one that’s not in your hands. By thinking this, you release control over the situation and allow your body and self to relax in the moment. Instead of being afraid of release, you can learn to enjoy the moment instead.

How Do I Call It Back To Me?

Calling your control back to you is the same way of calling back your power, it’s all in the mind. You never truly lose your power or control, you relinquish it in a way that allows you mentally to know you can always gain it back.

One great way to regain your control, is deep breathing and visualizing you calling back your control and power. You can control how this situation goes or panes out, it’s all in your mind and you have the right to feel the way you do if you are uncomfortable in this moment and can express this in a positive way.

Another technique, is by identifying your fears or being confident in who you are great ways in knowing you have control. Your fears can stop you from doing a lot of great things if you let it, manifesting in many ways and aspects of your life. But if you acknowledge those fears and sit with them, you gain the confidence to control how a situation goes away from those fears.

Releasing and gaining control takes time. It’s a process you get better with in due time. But if you want a better connection, feel more deeply connected with your mind, or staying in the present moment without fear or worry, these techniques will surely help you succeed.
